This is a Really Great Question Right?

I can't take credit for it; this is one of the 307 questions in the bible Jesus asked (Sidenote: he only answered 3). I was today years old when I learned that juicy fact listening to a church sermon one Sunday. So gurl, you already know I was like whaaat, I wanna know all the questions Jesus asked us in the bible.

After doing some research, prayer and all the things; I realized yep that's the next spiritual content I'll be sharing inside my Girls Trip to Success spiritual coaching to challenge my spiritual sistas to strengthen their walk with the Lord.

I found this cool book (Jesus is the Question: The 307 Questions Jesus Asked and The 3 He Answered by Martin B. Copenhaver) that was uber helpful with this journey. So, I will use it along side my King James Bible to help facilitate my spiritual peace journey. And gurl, what I realized about myself as a result of exploring that question kind of shocked me (OK not kind of ...a whole lot).

What I Realized is This

I was looking for peace, love and financial success. Not bad things to look for right? I thought the same thing until that question led to me reading more scriptures and asking myself even deeper questions which challenged me to answer the question of would I be the person I'd like to be if I received what I'm looking for...my answer to myself was a #shocker.

Something else I realized was; the people that confidently know what they're looking for in life are the one's looking for God AND being obedient to his word.

Full disclosure; I'm not fully obedient. I often refer to myself as a developing Christian because I'm trying daily to do right but, sometimes I fail. I'm sure I sinned a few times today already and, this is why I strive so hard to keep looking for God's wisdom, strength, confidence and courage to help me through daily (and I forever stay praying for his favor, grace, mercy and forgiveness).

What Did This Question Help Reveal For Me?

Well besides the obvious fact that I'm not reaching outside my comfort zone to share God's love with more people (as God commands of us Christians) and I gotta step up that part of my spiritual walk....

It reminded me that as long as I remember to seek God first in a all the things and never forget that God has given me all I need already inside of me (peace, love, wisdom, confidence, strength) I will have all the happiness I desire and all the joy I can dream of.

This question also reminded me to try better with my obedience because where I spend eternity after death literally depends on it. So, that's why I'm sharing this information in my weekly blog as well. But moreover, I don't want to miss feeling God's welcome arms after death in my new life and hearing him say he's proud of my Earthly works and of how I used my time, gifts and journey to share his love with people (#cheesysmile as I write this part).

Time to Get Cozy with God

This is a great question Jesus asked and I challenge you to ask yourself that same question. I bet you'll probably be just as surprised at what you find out about yourself like I did.

Below are the questions and scriptures I used to help me dive deeper into this question and you might find them helpful along your spiritual peace journey to challenge yourself to answer the question.

Ask yourself these questions Take as much time as you need; but I'd recommend a minimum of 1 hour. I'd recommend journaling so you can capture your thoughts during the journey.

1. What are you looking for (what you believe you are looking for)  

2. What should I be looking for

3. How do you spend your time

4. Am I the person I'd like to be

5. What's your reality (what are you really looking for)

6. Are you looking for your true self

7. Are you looking for genuine relationships with people

8. Are you looking for a true relationship with God

9. Will you entertain true answers revealed  

10. Will you allow the question results draw you closer to God

11. Will you allow the question results help you become the person you'd like to be

12. How can you make the questions and revelations apart of your daily life

13. How can you pray more consistently to God to seek him, feel Holy Spirit and offer gratitude (so you're not only praying to ask for something)

14. How can you take what you're looking for and find it in God

Ask your close friends and family these questions. Don't make this too complicated; you can send a quick text or  voice note. Let them know you're on a spiritual peace journey and would love their feedback siting it will help you strengthen your relationship with the Lord. Caution, don't ask these questions to toxic people-only people you trust.

1. What are you looking for   

Pray to the Holy Spirit. Take as much time as you need; but I'd recommend a minimum of 1 hour. Now that you've asked yourself some deeper dive questions, asked your peeps for help and gained some new insights; now it's time to seek guidance from the Holy Spirit. Pray for the Holy Spirit  to help you find scriptures to better understand the revealed answers, feel closer to God and more able to clearly hear from God.

1. What scriptures should you read based on your revelations

Chat with God. Take as much time as you need; but I'd recommend a minimum of 1 hour. Use what was revealed through the questions you asked yourself, family and friends and start a conversation with God. You can start talking to God by praying, reading scripture and listing to worship music. Here's some question(s) to ask God.

1. What should you be looking for 

Give God Gratitude. Take as much time as you need; but I'd recommend a minimum of 10 Mins. By this point you should be feeling a lot closer to God and way more thankful for how God has blessed you up to this point; more focused on your blessings of today and not hyper focused on the future.

Helpful Scriptures

These are the scriptures I read that helped me explore the question deeper, connect with the Holy Spirit and get closer to God.

I separated my scriptures into two categories: Main and Support. I had no time limit reading Main Scriptures and gave myself a 1 hour minimum to read the Support Scriptures.

The Main scriptures, which I read on day 1 are the one's that the Holy Spirit led me to read as I was understanding the answers to my questions.  

Support scriptures, are where the Holy Spirit led me as a result of reading a Main scripture and I spaced them out each day of the week. 

Keep in mind these scriptures were based upon my specific journey awareness for this specific question. You can use them as extra reading and/or support; feel free to not use them.

Support Scriptures

1. Proverbs 15:13

2. Proverbs 3:13

3. Proverbs 17:22
